Guide
Where to sell your vintage objects
Marketplace, auction room, trade network: the right channel depends on the object, the deadline and the level of proof.
A good record (identification plus range) does not tell you where to sell. Here is a simple grid for choosing — whether you are a collector or a professional.
General marketplaces
- Leboncoin — local volume, speed, often low prices.
- eBay — wide audience, fees, useful for identified pieces.
- Delcampe — collectibles (cards, automobilia, philately and so on).
Specialist marketplaces
- Catawiki — curated auctions, good for well-documented pieces.
- Chrono24 / Collector Square — watches and jewellery.
- Selency, Antikeo, 1stDibs — design and antiques, higher price points.
Auction rooms
When the object outgrows online retail, or when a public sale is required (estate, inventory). Auctioneers save time with consistent records and catalogue / Excel exports — which is exactly what the Pro plan offers.
Network & consignment
Antique dealers, traders, consignment shops: useful for job lots and for selling locally. A reasoned estimate helps you negotiate without being blindly talked down.
Choose with three questions
- How soon? (tomorrow vs three months)
- What level of proof? (photo alone vs physical examination)
- What price point? (under €200 vs several thousand)
Before selling: appraise properly. Profile: individual or professional.
Prepare the record before publishing
Identification plus a reasoned range, then export to suit your channel.
